Hi there,
Always wanted a Grifter in the 70's but never got one. Quite by accident I've come across a totally original [November 1979 MkII] in 'Flame Red' in mint unused condition with box. What's it worth?

Hi,

Just looking for a guide really. I'll possibly sell it in future but I'm enjoying looking at it. Don't want to ride it too far cos I don't wanna take the edge off the original tyres & brakes. Will post some pictures in a bit

Hi,
Here are some pictures taken today [29-09]
It's a lovely bike, totally original, complete & correct. Just what I always wanted 29 years ago! Can't believe there's gonna be many original, unused & unrestored Grifters better than this. Basically I consider it's pretty much 'as new'

Hi,
Selling it is a possibility in the [near?] future. I understand good restored Grifters sell for £300. Not seen any nice, complete & original [with box] Grifters to see what they're worth. I'd imagine that's because they're rare. The only reason I bought it was to re live xmas 1979 on a new Grifter - the way it always should have been!

Top find mate!    wow, i am so jealous!! Andy (supergrip) Was the only person to have a NOS grifter, though his is a more valuable early MK1, yours may well bring between £400/500 maybe more!! very, very rare to find this! its probably one of a kind! your a lucky man, well done

Hi Whitecars

A very nice and rare find and from a historic point of view is good to see what packaging it came in. As Gaz says I've got a NOS MK1 still in it's box and I've never seen another Grifter still with its packaging. Price wise it all depends on the general condition of the bike especially the chrome. If it's mint and has never been ridden your looking at £500 plus.

I didn't get much change from £850 for NOS MK1

Hi,

Thank you so much for [all] your replys. I'm really enjoying the bike at the moment. When I bought it [2wks ago] I came in for some flak from the missus for spending so much on an 'old bike' I was so exited when I saw it I could'nt resist! It seems I paid about the right money for it from a classic car auction,[!] sold as part of a collection of nice Choppers [2 red, 1 purple, 1 yellow], Tomahawk, Commando, Super Burner, Sinclair 'Zike' & Hoffman 'Evil Knievel' Stunt Bike! The Grifter was the nicest of all, though most were well above average to excellent and all fetched strong money considering the audience. I'd say the whole bike is pretty much as new really. Just a couple of small marks on the frame, excellent unmarked chrome & no wear or tear whatsoever. No surprised to hear it's so rare, especially with the box! Love the MkI by the way Supergrip! Think I will sell eventually, so I'll let you all know when I'm ready. As I said before, I don't want to ride it cos the original tyres/brakes etc are like new at the moment!
