Steve I'm stripping a back wheel down over the next few days and respoking it. I'll take a few step by step pictues which may be of help to you. |

Piece of cheese once you get going on it. Time Lord's right though trueing the wheel is the tricky bit (hence why I lace them up and let my Roger true the for me.) ![]()

hey grifter wheels shouldnt need dished as thats to fit a multi speed freewheel in .. the spokes are straighter on the drive side of those wheels this makes the spokes more liable to break as they suffer shock loading directly along there length..not at an angle as the other side does also they are under more tension larger diameter wheels are easier to build as the spokes are easier to fit..and the rims are more flexible...spokes are further apart so its easier to twirl the spoke key oh just got a pair of 24" rims...and a Shimano LX hub..and a Quando disc hub...from ebay was thinking of building the LX cassette hub onto the 24" ...then building a dyno front hub into the other rim...they are 32 spoke. but have to figure out the spoke lengths I might build the quando to a 20" rim...for my Dirt cross...but worried if I can get a good chain line for the 8 speed cassette...as its has short chainstays

apparently grifter wheels do need to be dished so they firt in the frame straight without having the hubs at funny angles
