Found this little tip for you lot from qualitychrome.co.uk  

"For cleaning chrome we recommend Windolene, as it’s an emulsion that simply pulls the grease off. You can also use AutoGlym. But don’t use Duroglit, Autosol or Brasso, these are abrasive and will damage the chrome surface. Decorative chrome should be cleaned once a week."

I have tried  Coca-Cola on removable parts and left them in it overnight  and had surprisingly good result

Remember good old brass o is good images/icones/icon7.gif
