Get a short length of metal tube, wrap a rag arount the arm to be staightened. Place pole over the arm and gently pull the tube in the opposite direction of the bend. Check the arm often to make sure you dont go to far. This is done whilst the arm or crank are still attached to the Frame. EASY!!

Oh I take the cranks off and put them in the vice.  Get my favourite scaffold pole and bend the arm.
If its the drive side arm I put the BB axle in it then clamp the pedal end in the vice and then put a thin pole on the BB axle then lever that.

Hey I had to straighten a crank at work.
but there is no scaffold poles there to get proper leverage..so just used a head set crown race tube thing..its only a foot long.
was difficult.
Have to take one of my scaffold poles to work...dont know what the bus driver would think of that tho
