Hi

Anyone know the best match for MK1 bronze and MK1 blue I can get from a spay can?  I don't want to get them powder coated because they won't look right!

Thanks in advance!

I think Wood5tock is in the process of sorting out paint matches.

I know he's already got the mk2 red colour sorted. (see news & announchments). I've found that Ford Cosmos blue is a very close match for the blue mk1 being very slightly lighter. I've found that over the production of the blue mk1 the colour changed slightly as i've a few blue mk1's that are slightly different shades.

It's sometimes known as Bronze red. Apparently there is also a firey red mk1 colour.  Personally I have never come across a firey red MK1 and have yet to be convinced there is such a colour.

supergrip, if i remember right it is not too different from the bronze, it's nearer the colour of the one you had sprayed.

This is the best picture i can find at the moment which shows the true colour accurately, so is it red or bronze?, i myself think its red. What do the experts think?, the bike is an early 1977 mk1.

Here we go. The three bikes here are the American, the NOS and my restored mk1. They all look similar. Maybe some MK1's have had more Red Candy laquer so look a deeper red. Also over time the candy starts to fade and looks alot more orange. I have six Red mk1's in total and they all look the same colour.
