ever since accidently discovering the "nightscene" mode on my camera, have become obsessed with taking pictures of grifters at night with varying (ie almost no) degree of success

this is the best effort so far, batteries on the camera just as i was about to put the grifter in different "poses"

REALLY like your 1st picture - looks really professional! if that hasn't been on previous years grifter calender it should definately be in this years, front cover even!!
fingers crossed for the weather i'm looking forward to some more top quality grifter pics!

Bournemouth eh? nice!!   glad you like the pics, in a way they are professional! the originals are below, our fellow member SUPERGRIP is a professional photographer, i took the orignal pics on two of my little jaunts, but he airbrushed and highlighted them to the results you have seen    he also did a poster one too (see below) thanks for the compliment, the bronze mk1 pic was (i believe) shortlisted for the calender, at least the silver mk2 made it, i think a red light on the front would look the dogs twitcher!!   i too hope the weather clears so i can post some new pics up!! regards, gaz.

thats where i'd seen your pic before - on the poster!  that looks incredible - literally lost for words!! i thought it was a real grifter poster and a good one at that!  kudos to all involved

haven't been out grifting since i took that photo - weather has been horrific, rain, wind, wind and rain - even in "sunny dreamtown"!

love that beach pic,its fantastic.. will have to try and get some night shots too..mind that a tripod should be used, another tip is use the timer function that way you limit any hand shake as night shots always need a long exposure if you dont want the pic to be very grainy.

yea cool iam itching to get some motorway flyover  long exposure type shots ,the type that give great traffic light trails, used to do them a lot when i used a canon eos film camera,so interested to try digital.ive been doing a lot of black and white lately but colour is good in autumn and esp if its night shots

smile/eek.gif  wasn't even raining yesterday evening so blasted out for a quick streetgrift and took the camera for some more night pics.  sadly, being an absolute novice i don't possess a tripod - just have to balance the camera on something near by and hope for the best (as a result all the pictures i take end up more or less on the p**s   )

cheers for the feedback guys - the "mars" picture came out quite by accident, i've no idea why it came out "weird" or how i could to do it again (took this one just after but from a slightly different angle, its come out more normal)

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll295/superpasty/nightgrifter5.jpg

might as well post this one up as well, although it came out a bit dissapointing

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll295/superpasty/nightgrifter6.jpg

might investigate a tripod but would be a bit cumbersome to take along when grifting unless i crack out the XL with the handy carry rack feature  smile/hapface01.gif

still looking forward to seeing some more "nightscene" pics...

checked out the "gorillapod" on the bay - might invest in one next payday! looks pretty handy!  probably better than my current system of balancing the camera on a wall, the ground, a bin, etc. etc. smile/eek.gif

cheers valeter - the camera is an "olympus camedia C-480 zoom 4 megapixel" know nothing at all of photography and my dad got me this a couple of years ago, does seem alright though.  here's a picture without me resizing it on "microsoft paint" - sorry if it comes out massive:

The weird effect looks like a car drove through the shot on a long exposure, car lights and such can give great effects on long exposure images, the light trails stay visible, but the cars blur away.
