My new Bomber, one owner from new. I need a new seat but its rideable once i pump the tyres up.

Is a later model, 83 / 9 stamped on the hub, got the chens shin snake belly tyres on which i believe were original tyres on a bomber. Still need a seat. Got any spare ones? I believe you have a good collection of bombers and bits. I think the seat is the same as the super grifters but with different reflecters.

seats are a bit hard to get hold of. If I were you, I'd ask a saddler or upholsterer to recover yours in leather, thats what i'm doing  ;)
Later versions have front and wheel reflectors, no front iamp bracket. plastic cable holders on the down tube and metal chain guards. Dates on hubs are not a reliable source of dating bikes.

Oh and brake calipers are different, older bikes have grifter type these ones have different outer cable stays!

has a front reflector and one on rear wheel, no lamp bracket. remember him getting it new when he was 13 which would have been early 84

I must admit, I didn't realise there was a modified version.
I had a 5 speed superbomber way back when and that had all the stuff these ones have.

Very nice, mines now in bits just having a clean but hopefully ready for a mini raleigh excursion round the village on sunday. How many have you got if thats your latest one?

Thats quite a collection of bombers! mine is totally rideable now had to make do with a different seat though. absolute classy cruising!
