Finally got hold of a really good Hawk Cycles Chopper. Completely original right down to the tyres, it must have been kept in a garage and hardly used as the chrome is excellent.
These bikes have a 3 speed Shimano rear hub which is much smoother and easier to set up than the Sturmey Archer version, you never get a 'neutral' gear which can easily have you off a Chopper or Grifter, especially when standing up pedaling! http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g148/77grifter/Hawk.jpg

these bikes really are nice to ride 10x better than my Raleigh Chopper, if you get the chance to have a go on one do it.

I like the strika style forks.

But those top tubes and sissy bar....

I had a Shimano 3 speed on my Chopper copy.
Was ok.

Ive got Shimano hubs on my Huffy Roadster.

Also on my Puch Mini Sprint.

but am thinking of fitting SA hub on alloys as I can run a smaller cog on those.  Higher gears.

It's very nice 77Grifter. I bet your really pleased with it. I think someone is selling one on eBay at the moment as 'a prototype chopper' They want silly money for it.

That's sweet! I really must do a blue bike one day. That colour is lovely.

Don't forget to come along to the Brooklands Meet, 5th May 2008.

The seat is a replacement for the moment, the original needs a slight resto, not sure about Woolworths I cant really find any info about them, they were made in Western Germany, quite a few 'Chopper Style' bikes on Ebay have similar parts

I found an ad on You Tube.

Is this the same company
Like the black bike.
Most cruiser bikes look too short.
That ones long

Just to squeeze the last out of an old thread, here is my Hawk Cycles, Black Hawk Superspeed Major, as bought

http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g148/77grifter/BlackHawk4.jpg

After a complete strip down, new tyres, tubes etc, saddle has a split but will glue easily. Another bike thats really easy to ride
