carling, them saddles are quite comfy actually, its just a standard chopper saddle without the back upright.

Isn't the front mudguard the wrong type for a sprint? I thought it had a skinny long type rather than the standard stock?
A lovely bike and a good job so far

I do like chopper sprints for there quirkiness.  Why raleigh thought they would be a good idea god only knows.  I like the colour as well, always wanted to restore a Grifter in that colour. I bet there a pig to steer

The seat on the mk2 chopper i have is very uncomforatable, maybe im used to my grifter seat and i was 14 the last time i rode a chopper so things have dropped a bit!!!

sounds like you got the almost solid black rubber block saddle foam rubber under that there seat cover, MOST uncomfortable and my conkers can testify to that fact as can my but cheeks !!!!!!. You need to replace that black foam rubber block with the particle foam type from an earlier mk2, waaaaaaaaaay mor comfy. ohhhhhhhhhhh yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh.

BTW, that mudguard on the sprint is wrong it SHOULD be narrower, but they are like rockin horse dung, hard to find to say the least.

I think you will fin that the bronze on the sprint is damn near the same as a bronze MK1 Grifter. well, it is to my tired old eyes.

Eh? Oh Grifter daddy, me thinks you are still wearing your big glasses!!! Either that or your colour blind!   The mk1 Metallic red looks nothing like the sprint colour?.... Oh darn it...just realised i might be colour blind!!!

Sorry mate i read this and thought you meant the sprint colour is near the same as the mk1 red grifter colour?...it isn't even close

Also Raleigh only ever produced a MK1 Metallic red... The term "bronze" is used by us.. "the general public" What started life as a metallic red was infact sun bleached candy red allowing the metallic gold/bronze to bleed through. Hence making the colour look bronze in appearance.

here it is with new brake levers and sissy clamps. ready for a blast round the block!!!
its bloody uncomfortable and an horrendous ridding position, dont think u can beat the grifter for comfort.
yes canopusxs it should have a skinny front mudguard, one came up on ebay recently just didnt have the funds at the time. chopper restorations are a sure fire way of spending vast amounts and keeping you poor.
