what is it with forum members working in rover dealerships?
i am a time served mechanic who started as a rover/austin
trainee
my first project as a fully qualified mechanic was a mini clubman with a 2.0l 16v engine from an astra gte
297bhp at the wheels 90 mph in 3rd 142 top end
had a custom subframe made to fit the beast and suspension strut assemblys and a flip off fibreglass front end to cover the lot.(no inner wings)
the complete bulkhead had to be removed, and the middle section of the floor pan front to back to house the gear linkage tunnel.
all the other items seat, pedal box, steering rack had also been moved back nearly a foot too, and the drivers seat was very close to the original position of the removed rear seats.
what an animal

I've managed to get an RSW rear wheel and i've fitted the twist grip also. It looks mint! Good idea guys. The Chrome on the wheel however lets it down as it isn't perfect like the rest of the bike. Anyone know of any wheel builders in the north? I can take the rim off and have it chromed and re build it myself but i'll have no hope of getting it to run true again!!

Hi Guys, Just a bit of an update. Managed to get get a decent set of Mk2 Burner rims so i fitted those to the Boxer. Then decided that it needed the RSW rear 3 Speed wheel so took both the Burner rim and the RSW to a mate to get the rims swapped. We got them ready just in time for the Brooklands meet so i thought i'd post a few completed pics to finish this thread. The bike is now complete apart from needing a few spokes as a few of them are too long hence the flat tyre!
For those of you who couldn't make it to Brooklands see what you think! Stars and Stripes Boxer is next!

Cheers Guys.

I used a Mk1 Burner Chain Guard and sprayed it black. I also fitted the Fork stop to the top of the frame from a Grifter. That was a real pain!!!
