I am almost finnished restoring a MK2 but have got the bug, I have become addicted to hours in my workshop/Garage with 80's classics playing on the ipod speakers and losing myself for a few hours. Im now thinking of getting a frame maybe more and pimping it up, Colour/Shiny bits that were not available when the bike was new, Are there any no go areas, Im particularly concerned about bottom bracket sizes and if new ones will fit.I'm quite tempted to do a union jack theme!any views would be nice

Oooh, Chrome Grifter has been talked about many times - just that no-body's had the cash to get it done! O_o

Don't forget to come along to the Brooklands Meet, 5th May 2008.

thought it'd cost more than £100 for a good quality rechrome on a set of frame and forks.

It's got to be more than £100 for all that chrome, your looking at nearly £60 for a frame powder coating. Got to say it would look good, chrome grifter!!!! Have a look at some of the pictures after the frames have been striped to give you an idea of how it would look.
I striped mine last week, kustom, midlife.
Gets to you very quickly this bike thing! I want a Burner to custom now and i've not even got the grifter frame back from my mate whos painting it! hahaha

Well there is a chrome plating place in my local town ELGIN, he said that he could do it but all rust would need to be removed and then any dents or rust denting needs to be filled with lead then it would be cool, need some forks and i think i'm going to go for it, if its less that a tun, matt
