My new MKI blue grifter arrived today, its rusty but is complete the seat is mint but the post is rusty as you can see, the bars and foam are v.good, has the original mki mudguards, it's missing the chainguard and half of the handle bar grips are gone! wrong decals, needa a new respray of frame & forks and all black parts, chrome needs re-chroming.needs seat reflector. and also needs new gear cable. so needs alot  

ALSO, WHAT YEAR IS THIS FRAME NUMBER: NH721921

nice early mk1 joel. That will be a very nice project.

It looks like its too far gone to try and save the paint (but its the wrong colour anyway!) it looks like someone else has painted it already.

Is it blue underneath joel? if so then for azura blue is the nearest to the original.

It will be a cracker when finished. I look forward to the pictures of the resto.  

P.s from the frame number youve given its a june 77

whats the hub date joel?

yeah, it looks like he has had a respray as it was paint of the thimbles! and all over the heron badge

No mate there normal mk1 bars. There too fat and theres too much detail on the top.

there not from any model mikey there just made up grifter stickers.

Actually Wayne, the decals are not made up. The decals on the bike are genuine and were sold by raleigh dealers. I bought some when i was a kid.

yes what i meant was they are not from any model of grifter so there
