Cheers Hoarder that will put  my  mind at  rest .I actually  dropped  it twice  , first time  never  knew until  I put  it back  together  then  found  it on  floor  then second  time dropped  it while  trying  to  be careful  putting  it  together again. Pesky  little thing  it  is.

just read on the technical question and answers  that there  should  also  be a spring  . I never saw  or  found  that lying  about.
has anyone  got the  diagram of the  twist  grip whick was spoken about  on that thread?

Cheers Hoarder , I suppose  I better  get  back to the  garage  floor and see if  I  can find a spring. It  seems  to be  working  ok without  it if it  isnt  in  it.

As far as remember there is just the one mate, u have moved the plate up or down (to where the slot is which reveals the colours) this has caused that one bearing to fall out of the recess, once u have re fitted the spring i am pretty sure you have sorted it!! as i had 3 grifters back in the day i went through a few cables and its all coming back to me now!
