Had a look at my mk2 today whilst fitting new brake cables and it too has the plastic blocks    Will check my mk1 next time i get it down from the rack.

you know the more i look at this bike the more i am perplexed , some of the parts are really nice that normally go bad and others seem to be have left when they went bad so im not sure if this was a front to back tidy up that ceased at some stage , sadly that is a question we may never know the answer to .

Today as im on nights tonight im going to have a go at removing the front calipers and sorting that out , it will come out really lovely as the calipers were in really good condition, i will also look at polishing the front mudguard , forks , ect and then refit them all and begin to move back down the bike .

And breathe ........fluffy white clouds .......

The bike went on her first of many outings yesterday, she went for a gentle ride around London with another bike group for children in need , she got lots of comments such as ," i used to have one of them and i remember them , do they weigh as much as i remember ...yes ," but she was the only grifter on a bmx event and was well recieved and to be fair looked ok .

The gears were given a little oil in the hub which seemed to help in getting another gear so that made two all i need now is to gain first and i will have the complete set of three .

As she worked well yesterday i let her have a lie in in the back of the ...only to find out this morning that the other half took the car to work so retro red is now basking in the sunshine ...lazy moo .

I have tonight tightened up the head nut which was loose from when i picked up the bike , all sorted and i have added a NOS cable clip at the front for all three cables sweet

She does however need a new set of rear brake blocks so that will happen early next week , yay more tinkering

rain cheks here we come

I took retro red out for a spin a couple of months ago and i got a puncture , whivh is now fixed ,i snuk in behind a car at the garage to pump up the tyres , as he was admiring the bike and pointing it out to his missis and then rode her home , so another one to pound the mean streets of hampshire .
