Personally, what I would like to see happen to the forum, is the consolidation of a larger knowledge-base (including pics...we all like pics) for dismatling, cleaning, fixing, re-assembling and all things related to acquiring those hard-to-find and identify OS parts.
Come on folks, post up your 'How to fix you Grifter' hints and tips, and share all your knowledge.

(As most of you will already know GrifterGuru is in the process of compiling a Grifter Manual, but that's no reason why we can't all share handy-hints and tips on here. (you never know, we might be able to teach the Guru a thing or two)

if as we all are , we refurbish or upgrade our bikes , and we have some less than perfect items surplus afetr this for people who dont have a lot of money but want a grifter to ride none the less could we not have a swap shop type area , i dont mean we all have beards and stripey jumpers on or purple dinosaurs on our desk  and our phone number is definatley not 01 811 8055 , like i say its just a thought .
what do you think ?
eg : i have two tyres that fit a mk2 and im after a mk2 seat , both parties pay postage for their respective items ....oh shut up steve

ok if that is the case i have two tyres that are from a mk2 (not supergrip ) ok for day to day use , and i am looking for a mk2 saddle ,  any one ?

ideas for the meetings we are hoping to have next year include from me are :
1) why not have something lighthearted like , a tractor pull type of event , you line you and your bike up , and a weight is tied by a bit of rope to the seat stem , you then see how far you can pull the weight along a pre set area , this will sort the men from the boys , everyone uses the same bike or bikes so as not to damage their pride and joy , what do you think ?

good idea, but the only prob is, how do we decide who takes the 'bike'??

To be fair my idea ,  my bike , or at least one or two of them .

What about having a bike of the month competition.

   along with bike of the month, how about a Grifter rat rat bike (one that can still be used)

if were going to have it monthly we will have to decide how long we have to enter then run a poll until a certain date and see who wins....

i think we should wait until we have a few more memers first becuse it will be the same 20 people entering every month

thats ok but how are we going to find more members as we are not an official body as it were ?would anyone be interested if i were to set up a enthusiasts group for the grifter , i have been doing some work on this and i will do it if there is the interest and support from other people .

i could help, i think we need to advertise more and keep the site more active...  its ben going well lately

i will try to spread the word by assisting people who sell their grifters on e bay and telling them about the forum so that they might pass on the word to people who buy their bikes and get them to join us

i have noticed that we are getting a lot of viewings from outside sources , so could we have an area where they can leave any comments good or bad so we get an idea as to what joe public thinks of the website ?
It could be annonymous unless they want to be identified
