Could we have a section that suggests centres that do things like powder coating and re-chroming as i need these jobs done but know of no such places

most people tend to use local powdercoaters to them, I used fhm reader from r.a.b.
As for rechroming I dont think anyone has found anyone worth mentioning!

rechroming is so expensive its just not worth it. I have so many wheels that need doing but its not cost effective. I think ginger has the right idea just get them powdercoated.  

On project RSW I was thinking of a Gold colour for the wheels and Green on the frame
bars and seat in black
in practical classics car magazine they have an imp in green with gold wheels that looks awesome

powder coating seems the beat option for you then mate

In my experience Powder coating wheels costs £30 per rim. Re Chrome Costing £25-30 per rim depending on condition.

you ever tried nickel plating ? comes out like chrome, only looks better and not so "cold".
