As we are fast becoming a very busy group , i would like to get as many of us out and about in our local areas as possible , so i was thinking how about having area meeting organisers , anyone can do it , but this could help to get lots more of us out there and also to cover more ground every year .

Thoughts???

another section for selling things to each other (not bike related) That way we all get a deal before it goes on ebay!

Indeed, a good idea 4737. I'm sure theres lots of stuff that we can transfer from one attic to another garage to p**s off our other halves,He! He! As for 'Area meeting organisers', Whoa ! Sounds too much like hard work and may lead to division in the Forum, You Know the kind of thing: 'Oi, those fellas in the Southern region are not sharing out the 54'' NOS gear cables, the scoundrels!' Etc, etc. Maybe just keep it simple and all meet up at a dedicated event and 'punch ' out our needs there.

Steve, Not having a pop, friend. Just seems complicated at this stage. As you rightly state, the Forum is gathering momentum and may need dedicated areas to deal with it in the future, but at present it has a comfortable, small club-like feel to it that may be lost with regional aspects to it. I know from experience in the Classic car scene what regional disputes can do to a club. Not nice and not good for what you're trying to promote.

Im not trying to turn the forum into a world domination empire or anything like that , but what i was thinking about is that :
say we have an e bay seller in scotland who has a mk1 and a member in ascot maybe  ;) instead of the buyer paying an extra 30 odd quid for postage on top of the price , we could have a member network who might of been able to collect said bike and hand it on to a member a little closer and pass it down through the members until it gets to where its needed , also and maybe a better idea , if a new members is really keen but very niave about the bike we could offer our help and so get the member settled in and get their new bike going and not get ripped off .

I am not the font of all knowledge , far from it but i will be asking members close to me for help and assistance as i would help them if they asked me , we pay each other in beer or coffee and share knowledge and experience .

Thats what i was trying to get at
