Please register your USA Grifter by posting a picture and register the first three digits of the serial number followed by the month of production in brackets, and then the hub date.

The American market main production run Grifter was only produced for two years(1977 & 78). The model only had two changes during it main production run, those been a reflector change on the 1978 model. On the 1977 Grifter model you will note that the bike had a unique shield shaped Cateye reflector with a white backed plastic and a large wide rectangular white plastic backed Cateye reflector at the rear.  On the 1978 model both the front & rear Cateye white backed plastic reflectors changed to a black backed plastic, and the rear reflector was also changed to a circular Cateye reflector (just like we see on the UK MK2 models)
