Being from up North Andy and i have to travel for quite a distance to meet up with you guys! Not that i mind but it does add quite a cost to the weekend. Especially as we have to keep getting bigger vehicles each time to transport our ever increasing collection!
I was thinking of trying to organsie a meet up North? I doubt that there would be enough public interest to hold a stand alone show but there are a number of events i could look into 'tagging onto'.
What do you think? I know a lot of members on various Raleigh forums are from down south but there are a few u here and you never know, we might unearth some 'closet fans'!

What does everyone think?

I was thinking that too. Prob looking at around the North East.
There are a few shows held not too far from my home town and i can get contacts for those.
Middlesbrough has a few which shouldn't be too bad. I travel to Edinburgh quite a lot and it takes no more than 3 Hrs.
There are a few held up near the A1 too. Newby Hall is a favourite of mine.

If i can get an idea of numbers then i'll look into it. There needs to be a few of us to make it worth while.
(Although Andy, Ginger and Myself did manage a rather immpressive display at the Raleigh Raligh between us!)  ;)

Possibly the Chrome and Fins show at Preston Park?
Also thinking of the Classic car Show held at Newby Hall. That would prob be a little more our scene to be honest as there is more than just classic cars there. I doubt we would fit in at Preston Park to be honest.

Right. i have at last managed to get some contact details (from an ex would you believe!) for the organisers of the Classic Car show held at Newby Hall every year. I need to get an idea of numbers before i start begging and pleading for a space. I really can't see it being a problem as i think that the kind of people the show attracts would find our scene of interest. It would be nice to hold an event up north for a change! I may also be able to get us a spot at the York Cycle show this year, again it depends on numbers.

Guys?

Not as yet Ste no. Nobody else has shown any interest so i've kind of given up on the idea now to be honest. I might just go it alone with Andy.

I've managed to organise x2 shows in and around the north east so far.
The first is being held at Preston Park on 7th June. Its a show called everything bikes and is being attended by a BMX display team. Andy and I have secured a display area there and are also holding a tyre fitting competion to win a mountain bike (donated by me through work).
The second is to be held at Newby Hall Classic Vehicle Rally on 19th July. Again i have managed to secure a small area for a display that should be sufficient. The plots were £15 each but i managed to get a BOGOF deal! Think Ginger showed interest in attending this one.

Yes mate newby hall is near ripon just off the A1.

Space is limited on both acounts as i have had to beg and plead for it . I've also managed to do it through work so i get the overtime and mileage back which is a bonus! I will need to be on my best behaviour though
