Hello everyone...  Just joined in and am currently building a Mk2 Grifter in blaze blue. Just had it really well powder coated in EXACTLY the same colour!! Beautiful decals applied!!! I'm quite good at panel beating and have just stripped bare the mudguards and taken ALL the dinks out of them. Used a smattering of filler where necessary to make 100%.
I had to use an angle grinder on the crank to get the bloody thing off! I'll be needing a new one then!!.
I need some new bars as they have a little chunk out of the foam but the seat's ok, just need a new reflector.
I also saw that there's some shrouds on the brakes that mine didn't have... I remember cutting them off back in the day (along with the mudguards).
I absoultely promise this will be one of the best builds in the UK... Just need to get the rechroming done on the rims etc. I've de-laced the wheels and am lucky enough to have a chroming company on my doorstep!!!

Well, I'll post pics asap, however, I have just sent the rims in for rechroming at 'Butterworths' in Ramsgate plus the stand for £105 (cash). Please be aware... the chroming company that I suggested that was on my doorstep (Ashford Chroming Company) quoted me £220 PER RIM... to quote me out of the job!!! The bread & butter guys like you and I need not deal with these types of business who have long forgotten who made them sucessful... incidentally, they use Butterworths for their chroming as they are only a polishing company!!
Still, I need a set of bars so i'll take Grifter God 4737 Carling's advice and trawl the ads. I didn't realise you all got back to me, how do I link your replies to my email address??
Pics to follow!!

Hi nakmas, to upload pictures just join photobucket and copy the img code to your post then we can all see your lovley pictures   Theres been quite a few very good condition mk2 bars on the bay at good money (no more than £25) which is an excellent price for good ones.

Just check the forum on a regular basis for any messages and that way you will also get to see whats for sale. Also Check out www.raleighactionbikes.co.uk as theres always parts for sale on there.
