Hi just bought a Grifter recently. It's a late Mk 1 I think?? frame nos NB9 (Feb 79) and the hub says 1 79 (Jan 79). It doesn't have the padded handlebars though? all the decals look like Mk 1 though. I'll post some pics when I get them on the PC.

Anyone have a set of OG hadlebar grips? I would like a set of well used ones to go with the bike.

Cheers !!

Chris.

Its definately a MK1 mate, and pretty well used by the looks of it! smile/eek.gif

The handlebar pads on these are fixed - so someones pulled this off your bike, to get a pad off another bike you'll have to carefully cut it from underneath and try and bond it back together, it'll be easier to get a new set of bars with the pad attached, MK1 bars are longer though and tend to fetch more money   on the plus side some MK2 bars will look fine and are cheaper

Hi guys,

Thanks for that, but I'm after the hadlebar grips. I'm not too fussed about the bar padding at the Mo.

I love the well used (rat) look.

Cheers,

Chris.

Yeah mate, thats the one!

I've given it an overhaul and it all works now.

I'm gonna keep it as it is though with the exception of some original grips if I can find some. I love it as it is.

I'm in the North West fella.

Just bought a Chopper to go with the Grifter. Can anyone tell me if this looks to be ok? Its the part of the spindle where the gear chain goes in. I thought it had the screw part of the chain snapped inside but this turns freely and looks like it should be there. I'm hoping all I will need is the nut and a chain to get it ok again.

Cheers,

Chtis.

Yeah I thought the old one had snapped, but the thing inside the spindle turns with a screwdriver, but it wont come out?

Cheers,

Chris.

you may have to take the hub apart mate. I know youve already checked out bombermans section of hub stripping and rebuilding so follow his guide and you wont go wrong mate.
