Welcome to the forum.
That's a really good bike - especially for the price.

Don't forget to come along to the Brooklands Meet, 5th May 2008.

Hi Dan.

It's a mk1 and looks complete. What are your plans for it. Full restoration, tidy up, yellow New York cab look.

AAAAH! 1980, a fine year for grifters sir! if you gonna keep it original mate you can get most stuff you need on here or ebay, if you want to spray it, i think swelrose has a great paint colour match, the hardest item really is nos supergrip tyres, but im sure you will be pointed in the right direction for those by someone

thought it went by the frame number as in nh8  the 8 being the year  (78)?  and the hub is just a rough guess as thats the date the sa was made?   burners have the same frame stamping they are dated by those numbers.

retrowagon i'd say you were right about the frame no. i'd read it as follows :

N - Nottingham

H - june

8 - 1978

the rear wheel may have been replaced at some point.  i think the sturmey archer hubs were made at the same place and were normally matched up give or take a month or two.
