Hello all, andy (supergrip) came round to mine today to have a look at the super grifter and a brew!, with being off work today i spent a lot of the day touching up and polishing the old gal, the rear wheel chain protector came up a treat! its now shining like chrome!! i think he was impressed with the bike, tho he seemed to like the seat a bit too much!   (hes after one for the g.s!)   heres how she looks now! i hope to get some outside pics took when and if the weather perks up!

Absolutely Stunning GaZ... I am so looking forward to the outside shots! On the decal front i think you will struggle to find a top tube decal. I have never seen one come up forsale. You might get luck but i think you will wait a long time. All things come to those that wait.

Thanks john, glad you like!   the paintwork is turning into a mirror!!    i struggled to read the frame number earlier as there is so much paint on it! who ever sprayed this one was very generous! i see some of these decals for sale a while ago... if only i could see into the future..... (wheres that crystal ball!!)    never mind, its tidy, if one comes up, it will be a bonus, cheers

Well i wish well with it GaZ... I am not sure but Grifter gli? or Ciaoflyer? was looking into getting some repro ones made. It may be worth while sending them a PM... One never knows, you may get lucky.   TOP TIP.. Polish your frame with G3 cutting compound, apply with damp cloth, then polish n shine. Now apply Autoglym Super resin polish and shine...finally using some turtle wax black coloured polish go around the frame dabbing lots of black polish into all the scratches etc. (lay it on thick) then leave to dry and harden off for two hours. Finally with a soft cloth polish off the residue... the black polish stays in the scratches. Buff again and your left with a mirror finish!

Thanks for the tips john, the bike is now looking mint with a mirror finish thanks to a few coatings of MER polish, it has worked a treat! i always used to use autoglym resin polish for polishing and have used the colour magic too on vehicles, ! it does produce, as you say, great results   i used car plan T-CUT on the frame to smooth the scratches out, a good result i think

T-CUT is pants Gaz... Brasso is cheaper and better! lol You really will see a difference using G3 compound first. Its also great to use on chrome to remove rust.
