Has anyone seen the nice mk2 for sale on ebay.
don't get me wrong it's a very nice bike, but how can something be nearly NOS. It either Is or Is'nt. Also saying 'You will not find a better original Grifter than this' along with hardly any scratches and  The chrome is a little pitted.

It's a very nice bike and the seller is local. It's just when I've ever auctioned a Grifter on ebay  I've always tried to discribe the bike for what it is. I like the winner to be happy with what they've bought. It's just that someone might bid over the odds believing it is the best grifter in the country.

It's looking great. Are you going to put standard decals on or special one offs.

one offs, red and white, but the white onthe decals will be clear so you can see the same sparkle of the powdercoat

Interesting post.

For the record this is the bike that I bought and whilst it is definitely not perfect I am still very happy with it for its age.

Supergrip: I take your point, though. It either is or isn't NOS.

As a non expert wanting a good condition Grifter then I'm a very happy bunny. I paid an amount that I was willing to pay and it's evidently an original 25 yr old bike with a few minor scrapes and dings but a lot less than it should have.

Of course now that I've joined this board and am becoming that bit more anal about these things I'm already starting to wonder how I can improve it

I imagine I'll be fighting it out for some Supergrips on eBay very soon...

hi
bealers.
if your after a set of supergrips try jaydog, he will sort you out.
as far as i know the seat that is pictured on your bike is from a mark 1 as the mark 2's did'nt have the chunks on the bottom.
in my opinion you have a very nice example of the grifter and i'm sure supergrip did'nt mean to cause3 offence to anyone.

Absolutely. None was taken.

I'll look into the seat situation too.

Cheers.

Hi grifter.ste. Just want to mention that i've had my 1979 Mk2 from new and know for a fact that the seat hasnt been changed and yet mine has got the chunks on the bottom just like bealers. Is this something other members can vouch for too????
Have we got a swapover model where the seats left from the mk1's were used on the mk2's???
