Thanks Mark, Chuffed to bits with that comment    I was thinking almost a resto due to the stickers being slightly different to the originals. Its amazing the bike appears new!

Thanks Guys, Can i have the Strika of the month award please. Quick, before someone does a better one

I need to sort the chain out still and i've just had to stab the toptube decals with a pin as they bubbled up like you would'nt believe but luckily it doesnt really notice. I can stop panicking now. Anyone know what that bracket thing is on the front wheel? I admittidely took this wheel off of my later Strika as it's less pitted but i dont know what the bracket is for. I can tell you that it seems to lock into the spokes and spins when the wheel spins.

It appears that the wheel may have been made for it. As its got a longer thread. I don't know.

Heres some daylight pics. Sorry, Just love showing the bike off.   I took it to work and one or two blokes said "but its a kids bike"   smile/mad.gif

This pic here displays one of the only dinks on the bike. Both are on the mudguards but i've realised that the mudguards are different to the later ones so i went with the early ones. I have actually got a later one powdercoated the same colour due to damage on this one on the bracket which means its slightly loose i could swap it in future but the later front guard has a support bar on it.

You can also notice that the downtube decals are clear. I didnt realise til i unwrapped em. I guess they were made for the silver model as the stickers are meant to have a silver background. I think they look great though. And it adds to my own restoral in some way i suppose

Its lovely when you think that this bike was made in the first year of Strika production. 1976. I was 3, I'm now 36!

I found out what was going on with the front wheel bracket. I went to Billing Chopper Rally and a guy said to me that he had the speedo for the thing    Next minute Wazza gave me another speedo. So i now have 2 that can go on the bike. One of them says its done over 400 miles

That's a lovely resto Bret.... Just loving the colour. I have a vintage racer that would look great in that colour...
