Hello 1977 Grifter

Sorry I was in a rush when I posted. Still am but er maybe if it is an original, maybe the year of the model or do you need more photo's. The no chainguard was a suprise, sometimes you don't always see the obvious.

Oh and Coming soon My yellow and Blue Strika XL, well as soon as I can get off my ass and collect it.

Hi warwick, yep its all original apart from the sticker on the headtube, there should be a black and gold Raleigh sticker, you can get a NOS one on Ebay for around £4. Looks very tidy and it will clean up a treat, its far too good to strip & respray, its still got its supergrips too! date wise its earlier than the yellow boxer at a guess around 1979 - 1981

It all sounds good to me. Without sounding stupid could you tell me the best materials to clean it up without causing it any harm?

Oh and dreaming of a chainguard might be like pissing in the wind on a very windy day?

I will get to cleaning the Boxer. The restoration, gosh where do I begin. I got the Heron badge off e bad, cost an arm and a leg and...it does not fit. It has two big pins and the frame has three little holes. I will get some pics up in the restoration section soon.

And thank you 4737Carling. It is nice but too nice, I don't want to touch it. When the cat's go near it I stick the boot in.

Thats just wicked! If you could put a mk1 then your picture then a mk1 then your picture!!! i would stare at that all day infact i would put it up on my bedroom wall!!
